We are excited to let you know that we are launching Training in Assistive Products (TAP) on November 10 with a webinar and a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC). As you may know, TAP has been in development for a few years. It has been really well received in the 11 countries where it has been implemented so far and we are excited to now make it freely available.
We hope that IASSIDD members can join us for the launch. Please also help us to spread the word and let others know that TAP will soon be freely available – share the attached flyer or the link to the event page (https://www.who.int/news-room/events/detail/2022/11/10/default-calendar/launch-of-who-training-in-assistive-products ) and also use the hashtags #ATChangesLives #TAPforAT.
Everyone can access TAP – it is a free online interactive learning resource. TAP addresses AT workforce gaps, targeted at enabling community-level workforce to provide assistive products safely and effectively through four simple steps. TAP can also be used to deliver AT curriculum within pre-service education, such as nursing, physio or occupational therapy degrees. Health professionals can also use TAP for continuing professional development.
TAP is the first ever dedicated training platform that links to the WHO Priority Assistive Product List. TAP will initially be available in 10 languages, with more languages and content to be added over time.
If any of special groups want to host an event about TAP or link it to their own campaign, do get in touch – we would love to collaborate.
Warm regards,
John Owuor, on behalf of the WHO AT Team
