Inclusive Research

Dear Colleagues,

We are continuing  to establish and develop the Inclusive Research Special Interest Research Group (SIRG). Our main aim continues to be to promote and support disability scholarship and stress the importance of actively including people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in research. All activities in the Inclusive Research SIRG involve peer research and co-leadership of people with living experience of intellectual and developmental disability, supporting the practice of “nothing about us without us”.

To this end we have now added a Manifesto for Inclusive Research discussion document. This was created by the Clare Inclusive Research Group based in West Clare, Ireland. Statements in the Manifesto were used as a touchstone for our first webinar Round Table Event on March 30th earlier this year.

Our primary goal is to work together to improve the lives and well-being of people with living experiences of intellectual and developmental disabilities.

We warmly invite you to become members of the Inclusive Research SIRG when renewing your IASSIDD membership.
