Rob Hopkins

Rob Hopkins is the coordinator of the Clare Inclusive Research Group employed by the support service organization Brothers of Charity, Clare Services.  With a background in Drama and Community Arts and Radio, he managed the BOC West Clare services before taking up an Inclusive Research and Self-Advocacy post in 2008. Amongst the Clare group’s most notable achievements to date have been prominently campaigning for the repeal and replacement of discriminatory decision-making and intimate relationship laws and the creation of the seminal discussion document “Manifesto for Inclusive Research”.

The International Association for the Scientific Study of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IASSIDD) is the first and only world-wide group dedicated to the scientific study of intellectual disability.

Founded in 1964 as the International Association for the Scientific Study of Mental Deficiency, IASSIDD is an international, interdisciplinary and scientific non-governmental organization which promotes worldwide research and exchange of information on intellectual disabilities.
