IASSIDD is seeking committed and engaged members to stand for election to the Board of Directors for the 2027–2029 term and help shape the Society’s leadership, governance and future direction.
Board Composition and Portfolio Responsibilities
The Board may comprise up to ten elected Directors. The immediate Past President may also serve ex officio for one year. Following the election, the elected Directors will determine the office bearer roles of President, Deputy President, Secretary and Treasurer, and allocate portfolio responsibilities that currently include Membership, Communication and Marketing, Congresses, Academy, SIRG Coordination, Governance, and Publications and Policy.
Eligibility and Nomination
Members in good standing are warmly encouraged to consider nominating for election, or to encourage eligible members with the skills, experience, energy and commitment to contribute to the Society’s work and future direction.
Nominees should be able to demonstrate their own capacity to contribute to the responsibilities of a Director and may also indicate their interest or experience in one or more Board portfolio areas.
Procedure for Nominations
To nominate, members must complete the formal nomination form attached in this email and submit it to the IASSIDD Secretariat at office@iassidd.org during the nomination period.
Each nomination must include:
- A 200-word statement about the nominee’s experience and reasons for wishing to serve as a Director
- Written statements of support from two IASSIDD members
The Governance Committee will review nominations to confirm eligibility before the final candidate list is prepared for election.
Election Timeline
- Final election dates will be advised before 14 September.
- Eligible voting members will be invited to vote through a confidential online voting platform.
- The announcement of election results will be advised in due course.
Closing Date for Nominations
The call for nominations closes on 31 August 2026.
