Dear IASSIDD Community,
As President, I am pleased to inform you that the formal call for nominations for election to the IASSIDD Board of Directors for the 2027–2029 term will open on 3 August 2026. This advance notice is intended to alert members to the forthcoming opportunity and to encourage early consideration of potential nominations.
The Board may include up to ten (10) elected Directors, with the immediate Past President serving ex officio for one year. Elected Directors work collaboratively to allocate officer roles and portfolio responsibilities, including President, Deputy President, Secretary, Treasurer, Membership, Communication and Marketing, Congresses, Academy, SIRG Coordination, Governance, and Publications and Policy (see Article VI of the IASSIDD Bylaws).
I warmly encourage all members in good standing to begin considering whether they might nominate for election, or whether they might encourage colleagues with the skills, experience, energy, and commitment to serve the Association. IASSIDD’s strength has always rested on the generosity and expertise of its members, and Board service is one meaningful way to help shape our shared future.
Nominees should be able to demonstrate their capacity to contribute to the responsibilities of a Director and may also indicate interest or experience in one or more Board portfolio areas. We welcome nominations from members who can bring thoughtful leadership, sound judgement, collaborative ways of working, and a strong commitment to the mission and values of IASSIDD.
Further details including the nomination form, eligibility requirements, and submission process will be circulated with the official call for nominations. Nominees will be asked to provide a short statement outlining their experience and reasons for wishing to serve, along with statements of support from two IASSIDD members.
The formal call for nominations will close on 21 August 2026. The election period is expected to run from 7–19 September 2026, with eligible members invited to vote through a confidential online platform. Results are expected to be announced on 29 September 2026.
