Research in Ireland on Post-School Education for Students with a Disability

Research in Ireland on Post-School Education for Students with a Disability.

Dear IASSIDD Members,

In Ireland, we are currently conducting research into the experiences of young disabled people and those with additional needs in post-school environments. Many disabled people, especially those who have an intellectual disability, have traditionally followed a separate pathway in post-school provision that has been termed specialist training provision.

As an international authority, we would like to find out what your views and experiences have been of this type of provision if it exists in your country. We are particularly interested in any case study examples that you are aware of as examples of innovative practice appear to be rare in the literature.

We would be very grateful if you could address some broad questions within the questionnaire which is linked below.  If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact us.  Thank you in advance for your participation in this important research.

We would appreciate your reply by Friday 21st June 2024.

Best Regards,

Prof. Michael Shevlin
Director
Trinity Centre for People with Intellectual Disabilities
