Fionn Crombie Angus

Fionn Crombie Angus is the Chair. Fionn has Down syndrome and lives in Ireland. He plays traditional Irish music on his fiddle. He was one of five people with Down syndrome on the National DS Policy Group that was instrumental in bringing about the DS Act 2022, and serves as the Chair of the Advisory Group, currently conducting research with stakeholders for the UK government to inform the guidance report.

He and his father are Global Liaisons for the Inclusive Research Network of Ireland, having conducted learning exchanges in 26 countries. They are the International Ambassadors for Citizen Network, more than 200 organisations that work toward a world where everyone matters. As IASSIDD’s first Governance Council Member with a developmental disability, Fionn received the Distinguished Service Award in summer of 2022.

Founded in 1964 as the International Association for the Scientific Study of Mental Deficiency, IASSIDD is an international, interdisciplinary and scientific non-governmental organization which promotes worldwide research and exchange of information on intellectual disabilities.
